Hey Posse

Hey Posse. Just a little update to what's been going on as of late. I was up in Stowe, VT for 4 days doing some pest control and just got back this past Thursday. My wife Sienna went in the next morning to have surgery on her rotator cuff so since Friday evening we have been trying to keep her as comfortable as possible. Not a whole lot else is going to be happening until her pain level decreases although I did manage to throw another ride video up on youtube last night. I'm really enjoying the gopro and youtube experience. Fun hobby. As soon as Sienna is up and running on her own I hope to get back out on the atv for a little fun. Also looking forward to getting back up to the campground and doing a little fishing. One of these days in my spare time I also have to get my trail cameras back in operation to check out this years inventory of my favorite furry creatures. Well that's about it for now Posse. Ya'll have yourselves a great week. Take care and God bless.

Good evening Posse. Just finally finished uploading a video to youtube after about 2 days and 15 attempts. Went up to open the camper for the season yesterday and it was so nice to be back there. The creek behind us which was dried up last year is now flooded and it looks awesome. The wildlife was sure taking advantage of the abundant water. Plenty of blue herons, geese, turtles, as well as some carp spawning which was causing quite a raucus. Everything seems to be working as it should on the camper so that was a plus. It was great to see some of our "second family" again. Still have a little work to do up there to make it "homie" for the season. Can't wait to get out and do some fishing and canoeing. I may use the gopro for some of those activities as well. All in all it was a great weekend and we got a lot accomplished in the meantime. Well that's about it for now Posse. Until then, live it loud and Posse proud.

Just a quick tidbit

Good morning Posse. Put a couple of videos up on youtube recently and have been trying to put another one up but I keep getting upload errors which is very frustrating. The computer almost fell victim to the 12 gauge Mossberg but I realized it wasn't the computer's fault but most likely an issue with Youtube. I still like experimenting with the gopro and youtube though. It's a lot of fun. Hoping to get up to the camper today and get some of the chores done to get it ready for summer use. Had a chance to sneak out on the wheeler for a few hours last weekend which was a blast. It's just relaxing to be out in the woods and hear the sounds of nature, especially this time of year when everything is coming to life again. Well it's off for a little more frustration with youtube and then headed north to the camper. Take care Posse.

Redneck Ramblings

Well here we are again on another dreary day here in the Northeast. We have had a few nice days as of late which has allowed me to get the bike out of the garage and get a little wind therapy and to test the gopro helmet mount. Took a short ride along the west shore of Lake Bomoseen yesterday and fired up the gopro for part of it. I'm impressed with the camera so far. I have to work on adjusting it on the helmet properly so i get a good view but otherwise everything else worked flawlessly. Today i tried doing some editing of the ride video in youtube editor to add some music and realized that's a learning curve for this good ol country boy. I finally got some music on there but i'm not sure I can remember how I did it. Once the video was done I then transferred it over to the redneckposse.com website under the Hey ya'll watch this section. Hopefully someone finds it entertaining. I am not computer saavy at all so it will show in some of the work but hey I'm giving it a go. Last Friday my wife and I went to Burlington, VT to take ham radio exams. She was attempting to get her Technicians license and I was looking to upgrade my license to the General Class. We both succeeded in our attempt. I've been enjoying listening to other hams on the radio and trying to learn the etiquette and social makeup. Seems like a pretty cool hobby and I'm looking forward to learning even more. Well that's about it for now. Live it loud and Posse Proud. Ya'll take care Posse.

Thursday, April 6, 2017

Well I haven't been blogging in quite some time. Between work and just everyday life there just hasn't been much time to sit down and put any thoughts together. I've also been dealing with diabetes but you know the old sayings, "You can't keep a good man down" and "A country boy can survive". A lot of things have transpired in the past few years. More grandchildren added to the mix which keeps us pretty busy as well. We also bought a little camper and have it in a campground about an hour north of the house on Lake Champlain within sight of the Crown Point Bridge. We really enjoy when we can get up there and decompress and live a more minimalistic life if only for a few days at a time. Enough time to recharge the batteries. We just recently picked up a gopro camera so hopefully we'll be doing some cool stuff with that in the near future. A couple of weeks ago i studied for and passed the Technicians Exam for Amateur radio and with any luck will be taking the General Exam tomorrow to bump up to the next level. Hope to be able to buy some decent equipment at some point, it would be great to talk with other folks from around the world. Well that's about it for now. I hope to be able to keep up with this a bit more. God bless Posse.

Youth Hunt

Hey all Posse. This coming weekend is the Vermont youth hunting weekend. We've got quite a few trail cam pics of some deer that we would like to take. Finally got some bucks coming around checking out the mock scrape I set up near the treestand. Hopefully my granddaughter can have an opportunity to fill her tag and put some meat in the freezer. I'm just glad she still wants to get out and give it a try. Most kids these days want to hang on the couch and play video games. She will be using my Thompson Center Encore Pro hunter with the .243 barrel. She is only going to have the one shot but with my instruction that's all it should take. Want to wish all the other youth Posse members out there the best of luck. Enjoy your time afield with family and friends, that's what this is truly about. God bless Posse.

Vermont's Turkey Youth Weekend Hunt

Hey Posse. Got to get out a little this past weekend for the youth turkey hunt. Being new to turkey hunting myself it was quite an adventure. Took my granddaughter out both days. We see a few turkeys but they were pretty tight lipped and on a mission to go somewhere else. They totally ignored our calling. It was still a neat experience because neither of us had ever hunted from a ground blind before. Seemed totally foreign to me but looks like something I could get used to. Anytime you can get a child out in the great outdoors it is going to be an excellent time whether or not you harvest something or not. The regular season starts May 1st here in Vermont and we will be back out there trying to get the ol thunder chicken. To all the other Posse members out there hunting, good luck and be safe. God bless Posse.
